What it does
Compleated is a mechanic found on certain Phyrexian planeswalkers, like Tezzeret, Betrayer of Flesh or Jace, the Perfected Mind. It appears on planeswalkers with Phyrexian mana symbols in their loyalty cost. If you pay life instead of the colored mana for a Phyrexian symbol while casting the planeswalker, it enters with two fewer loyalty counters for each such payment.
The key nuance: you choose at casting whether to pay life or mana for each Phyrexian pip, and only the life payments cost loyalty. Paying the full colored mana means no loyalty reduction. The 2-for-1 loyalty hit applies per Phyrexian symbol paid with life, and it's a one-time reduction as it enters—not an ongoing penalty.
In Commander, this lets you cast these planeswalkers when short on a color, but you'll often arrive at lower loyalty, making them easier to attack down. Weigh the speed of casting against survivability across a multiplayer table.
