What it does
Decimate is a one-shot spell ability that forces destruction across multiple permanent types simultaneously. When you cast it, the controller must destroy a target artifact, a target creature, a target enchantment, and a target land—one of each, all at once.
The big nuance: Decimate requires legal targets in all four categories to be cast. If any one type isn't on the battlefield somewhere, you simply can't cast the spell. You're not required to target your own opponents' stuff, either—targets can be any legal permanent, including your own, which matters when there aren't enough enemy targets available. Also, "destroy" means regeneration and indestructible can save those permanents.
In Commander, it's efficient, symmetrical-ish removal that hits four boards' worth of value at once. It's strongest when opponents have all four permanent types committed, and weakest when someone's missing a category, locking you out entirely.
