If you encountered it on a card, check the reminder text or the actual keyword printed there. You might be thinking of abilities like "Battalion" (a Boros mechanic that triggers when a creature attacks alongside two others) or token-army strategies that swarm with creatures. Tribal "soldier" or "troop" decks lean on going wide with many bodies.
For Commander specifically, if this is a custom card from a casual playgroup, ask the card's creator how it's intended to work, since it carries no official ruling.
