What it does
Support N is a one-time ability that puts a +1/+1 counter on each of up to N other target creatures. You choose how many targets (zero up to N), but each chosen creature gets exactly one counter.
The word "other" is the nuance people miss: if Support appears on a creature (like an enters-the-battlefield trigger), that creature can't pick itself. However, when Support is on an instant or sorcery, there's no "other" restriction, so it can target any creatures—including the source's controller's whole board. Always read whether it says "other."
In Commander, Support shines in go-wide +1/+1 counter decks, especially with abzan or selesnya counter synergies, proliferate, or commanders that reward spreading counters. It's a flexible, modal way to buff multiple creatures from a single card, though it's relatively low-impact for big multiplayer boards.
