What it does

Time Travel is a mechanic from Doctor Who Commander decks that lets you interact with counters on permanents and cards in exile. When an effect tells you to "time travel," for each suspended card you own in exile, you may remove a time counter from it; and for each permanent you control with a time counter on it, you may add a time counter to it. You choose for each one independently—it's optional per object. The big nuance: time travel can both speed up suspended spells (removing counters to cast them sooner) and slow down or extend things like Saga-style or vanishing permanents by adding counters. People forget it only affects time counters, not other counter types, and only objects you own (in exile) or control (on the battlefield). In Commander, it shines in suspend-themed builds, letting you accelerate big spells or manipulate counter-based permanents repeatedly for value.
