Why is this card good?

Herald's Horn is a tribal staple, and for good reason: it's a colorless three-drop that does two valuable things at once. The {1} cost reduction adds up fast in a deck running 30+ creatures of one type, effectively ramping you through your curve, and the upkeep card advantage quietly refills your hand over the course of a long game. Who wants it: Any dedicated tribal deck — Elves, Goblins, Dragons, Slivers, Zombies, Vampires, Dinosaurs, etc. It's especially good in commanders like Edgar Markov, Ur-Dragon, or Lathril where you're flooding the board with one creature type. The free recurring card draw makes it better than pure cost-reducers like Urza's Incubator in grindy games. When to skip it: Don't run it in decks with scattered creature types or low creature counts — you need real density to justify the slot. It also does nothing the turn you play it, so fast combo or aggressive lists may prefer impactful pieces. Changelings can cheat the type-locking restriction.
