Why is this card good?
Phyrexian Tower is a premium utility land for any deck that loves sacrificing creatures, and that's a lot of decks. The colorless mana keeps it nearly free to include, while the sac ability turns a chump blocker, expendable token, or dying creature into a burst of two black mana — accelerating you a full turn ahead or fueling a big spell.
Who wants it: Aristocrats decks (Korvold, Meren, Yawgmoth) treat the sac itself as upside, triggering death payoffs while ramping. Reanimator decks adore tossing a fatty into the graveyard and getting mana to bring it back. Any mono-black or black-heavy ramp deck appreciates the double-black fixing for color-intensive costs.
When to skip it: Decks light on creatures or that don't want to lose bodies — control, spellslinger, or lands-matter builds — get little value, since you rarely want to feed it. It's also weaker in heavily multicolored decks needing precise fixing, as it only produces black.
