What it does

Corrupted is an ability word (not an evergreen keyword) found primarily on Phyrexia: All Will Be One cards. It marks abilities that only function—or get a bonus—when an opponent has three or more poison counters. It works hand-in-hand with toxic and infect, which deal poison counters to players. The key nuance: corrupted checks an opponent's poison count, not your own, and the threshold is exactly three or more. People often misread it as a "poisoned" toggle or think it counts all opponents collectively—it doesn't. As long as at least one opponent sits at three-plus poison, your corrupted abilities turn on against eligible targets. In Commander, the bigger poison total (10 to lose, not the usual 10) and four players make hitting three poison early tougher, so corrupted decks lean on toxic creatures and proliferate to reach the threshold and unlock these bonuses.
