What it does
Transform flips a double-faced card from its current face to its other face, keeping it the same physical permanent on the battlefield. The card doesn't change zones—it stays attached to the same Auras, keeps counters, and retains tapped/untapped status. Triggers and abilities that reference the permanent still apply because it's the same object.
The biggest misconception: transforming is not the same as casting or entering the battlefield. A permanent transforming doesn't trigger "enters the battlefield" effects, and you don't get to recast it. Also, only permanents with two faces (or those instructed to transform) can do this—you can't transform a normal single-faced card.
In Commander, transform matters with cards like planeswalkers that flip, werewolves, and Westvale Abbey. Watch for "if it would transform but can't" clauses, and remember meld and modal double-faced cards work differently.
