Mana Confluence is one of the best fixing lands in the format, and a near-auto-include in any deck running three or more colors. The reason is simple: it taps for any color with no restriction, no tapped state, and no setup. The 1-life cost is trivial in a format starting at 40 life, and the value of always having the right color far outweighs the chip damage.
It shines in:
- 3+ color decks that need flawless fixing, especially competitive or fast lists.
- Decks splashing off-color bombs or pips.
- cEDH where speed and consistency justify the life payment.
When to skip it:
- One or two-color decks, where basics or simpler duals do the job without the life loss.
- Aggressive aggro/burn mirrors or life-matters punishment metas (Aetherflux, etc.) where every point matters.
- Budget builds — it's expensive, and Command Tower or a Triome often suffices.
If you can afford it and need the fixing, it earns its slot.
