Why is this card good?

Swiftfoot Boots is one of the most-played cards in Commander for good reason: it's cheap, colorless, and protects your most important creature — usually your commander. The hexproof shields your general from targeted removal, edicts aside, while haste lets it attack or tap immediately. That haste matters more than people think: in any deck where your commander needs to swing (Voltron) or tap for value (mana dorks, ability-based commanders), the boots let it work the turn it lands, avoiding a wasted turn after a recast. - Wants it: Voltron/commander-damage decks, any deck relying on a key creature, especially one that gets recast repeatedly and racks up commander tax. - Trade-off vs. Lightning Greaves: Greaves are free to equip but give shroud (you can't target your own creature). Boots cost {1} to equip but allow your own auras/buffs — better for Voltron. Skip it in token/go-wide or aristocrats decks where no single creature is worth protecting — you'd rather run interaction or ramp.

If a creature enters the battlefield under your control and gains haste, but then loses it before attacking, it won't be able to attack that turn. This means that you can't use one Swiftfoot Boots to allow two new creatures to attack in the same turn.
