Ashaya, Soul of the Wild
The Commander
Ashaya's power and toughness are each equal to the number of lands you control.
Nontoken creatures you control are Forest lands in addition to their other types. (They're still affected by summoning sickness.)
Guide
Gameplan
Ashaya turns all your nontoken creatures into Forests, fueling explosive ramp via untappers and land-matters payoffs while becoming a massive threat herself. You flood the board with mana dorks that now tap for tons of mana, then leverage that into huge X-spells, landfall payoffs, or a lethal Ashaya swing. The core loop is generating absurd green mana to overwhelm the table.
Strengths
- Each mana dork becomes a Forest, so untappers like Quirion Ranger and Wirewood Symbiote generate huge, repeatable mana
- Mono-green resilience with cheap recursion and a self-growing commander that scales with your board
- Enables degenerate infinite mana combos with creature untappers and high-mana dorks
- Strong landfall and land-count synergies since creatures literally count as lands
Weaknesses
- A single board wipe destroys your mana base since creatures are your lands
- Mono-green lacks interaction, removal, and card draw fixing
- Ashaya being huge but easy to chump or remove can stall the Voltron plan
- Vulnerable to mass land destruction and graveyard hate against recursion
Key Cards
- Quirion Ranger — Bounce a Forest (any creature) to untap a creature-land, enabling infinite untaps and mana with the right dorks.
- Wirewood Symbiote — Untap an Elf for free by bouncing a creature, comboing with high-output dorks for infinite mana.
- Priest of Titania — Taps for huge green with a wide Elf board and counts as a Forest under Ashaya for explosive mana.
- Staff of Domination — Classic infinite-mana payoff that converts unbounded green into infinite draw, life, and tapping to win.
- Craterhoof Behemoth — Turns your wide board of 'lands' into a one-shot lethal alpha strike.
- Cloudstone Curio — Bounce-loop creatures with ETB mana to generate infinite mana and triggers.
Upgrade Path
Add fast mana like Gaea's Cradle, Carpet of Flowers, and efficient dorks, plus tutors such as Green Sun's Zenith and Worldly Tutor to assemble combos faster. Include payoffs like Walking Ballista, Staff of Domination, and Umbral Mantle for clean infinite-mana kills, and round out with protection (Heroic Intervention, Veil of Summer) and recovery to survive wipes.

Archetypes
- Elfball / Ramp — Mana dorks become Forests, multiplying their output and enabling explosive green mana ramp.
- Combo — Untappers plus high-mana dorks make infinite mana that wins with Staff of Domination or Walking Ballista.
- Landfall — Nontoken creatures count as land permanents, supercharging landfall payoffs and land-count effects.
- Voltron — Ashaya scales with land count and can connect for big commander damage with trample enablers.
