Toski, Bearer of Secrets
The Commander
This spell can't be countered.
Indestructible
Toski attacks each combat if able.
Whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to a player, draw a card.
Guide
Gameplan
Toski turns your board of creatures into a relentless card-draw engine, refilling your hand every time any creature connects in combat. You flood the board with small evasive or wide creatures, attack into open players, and bury the table in card advantage that mono-green normally lacks. Eventually you snowball into overwhelming mana and beaters, or assemble a combat-based or combo finish.
Strengths
- Provides repeatable, hard-to-stop card advantage in a color starved for it
- Indestructible and uncounterable, so it's extremely resilient to removal
- Rewards going wide—every connecting creature draws a card
- Cheap at 4 mana and recasts easily if exiled or bounced
Weaknesses
- Forced to attack each combat, which can be punishing into open mana or strong blockers
- Vulnerable to exile, bounce, and -X/-X effects that dodge indestructibility
- Card draw means little if your creatures can't actually connect (Fog, mass blockers, Propaganda effects)
- Mono-green struggles with interaction, instant-speed removal, and flying threats
Key Cards
- Shadowspear — Grants trample so Toski and your team push damage through chump blockers to keep drawing.
- Skullclamp — Turns expendable tokens into extra cards, stacking with Toski's combat draw for explosive advantage.
- Rogue's Passage — Makes a creature unblockable to guarantee at least one trigger and force damage through stalled boards.
- Craterhoof Behemoth — Converts your wide, card-fueled board into a lethal alpha strike.
- Heroic Intervention — Protects your board from wraths and gives Toski's team the resilience green wants.
- Wedding Invitation — A repeatable way to grant evasion and cantrip while keeping creatures connecting.
Upgrade Path
Add evasion and protection (Shadowspear, Whispersilk Cloak, Lightning Greaves) so triggers are guaranteed and your engine survives wraths. Lean into fast mana like Sol Ring, Mana Crypt, and green dorks to deploy threats ahead of curve, and include Skullclamp and token producers to maximize draws. Top end should be a reliable finisher (Craterhoof Behemoth, Triumph of the Hordes, or Finale of Devastation) to convert your card and board advantage into a single decisive turn.

Win Conditions
- ▸Overwhelming the table with a wide, card-advantaged board and an alpha strike (Craterhoof, Overwhelming Stampede)
- ▸Grinding out opponents through sheer card and mana advantage into oversized threats
- ▸Decking yourself isn't a risk thanks to draw triggers—closing via repeated combat damage
- ▸Voltron-style commander damage when Toski is suited up and unblockable
Archetypes
- Tokens / Go-Wide — Many small attackers each trigger Toski, drawing fistfuls of cards every combat.
- Stompy / Midrange Beatdown — Toski refuels aggressive green creatures so you never run out of gas while attacking.
- Combo — Infinite combat or unblockable loops with cards like Sword of the Animist or token engines can draw your whole library.
- Voltron — A single evasive, buffed Toski reliably draws cards and pressures life totals.
