Guide
Gameplan
Breya is an artifact-matters value engine and combo hub in four colors. You flood the board with artifacts and tokens, then use Breya's sacrifice ability as repeatable removal, life gain, or a damage outlet. The deck closes by either grinding incremental advantage or assembling a two-card artifact loop that turns Breya's ping into infinite damage.
Strengths
- Four colors gives access to the best artifact support, tutors, and interaction in the format
- Breya itself is a built-in removal/burn/lifegain engine that comes with two free artifacts (Thopters)
- Naturally supports multiple infinite combos that win on the spot
- Deep redundancy in artifact tokens, sac fodder, and cost reducers
Weaknesses
- Artifact-heavy lists fold hard to mass artifact removal like Vandalblast or Bane of Progress
- Four-color mana base needs significant investment to be consistent
- Combo lines are well-known and easily disrupted by experienced tables
- Can be glass-cannon and exposed to graveyard hate or stax that locks the sac ability
Key Cards
- Krark-Clan Ironworks — Generates explosive mana from sacrificing artifacts, fueling Breya activations and combo turns.
- Thopter Foundry — Combos with Sword of the Meek and Ashnod's Altar for infinite Thopters, life, and Breya fodder.
- Time Sieve — With Thopter Assembly or token engines it loops extra turns to lock the game.
- Goblin Welder — Reanimates and recurs artifacts repeatedly, enabling abuse of expensive bombs and combo pieces.
- Nim Deathmantle — Pairs with Ashnod's Altar and a token maker for infinite recursion and sacrifice value.
Upgrade Path
Add fast mana and rocks (Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, Mox Opal) to power out Breya and combos faster, then tighten the mana base with original duals, fetches, and Mana Confluence. Lean into compact two-card loops like Time Sieve + Thopter Assembly and protect them with counterspells and tutors (Demonic Tutor, Whir of Invention) to make the deck a true combo threat.
