Why is this card good?

Chrome Mox is one of the premier fast-mana rocks in cEDH and high-power Commander: a free mana source that accelerates you a full turn ahead. In a format defined by tempo, turn-one Chrome Mox into your commander or a key piece is exactly the kind of explosive start that wins games before opponents stabilize. The catch is the imprint cost — you exile a colored card from hand, so it generates real card disadvantage. That's fine in fast combo and storm decks that prioritize speed over grind, and in two- or three-color decks with dense colored spells you can afford to pitch a redundant card. It's a Game Changer for a reason: it powers explosive, often non-interactive starts. Don't play it in slow, grindy, value-oriented decks where every card matters, or in heavy artifact decks where it's hilariously weak (you can't imprint artifacts). It also whiffs entirely if your opening hand has no spare colored card. Reserved for decks that genuinely race.
