Why is this card good?
Cultivate is one of the most-played cards in Commander for good reason — it's pure consistency and acceleration rolled into one. You ramp by one land (tapped) while putting a second basic in hand, which means you both advance your mana and guarantee a land drop next turn. That hand-fixing matters: it smooths your curve and keeps you from flooding or screwing.
It shines in any green deck that wants to hit big payoffs early — ramp-into-fatties decks, five-color or heavy multicolor builds needing fixing, and Landfall strategies that love the extra land in hand. Commanders like Omnath, Lord Windgrace, or anything top-heavy adore it.
The main knock is speed: it doesn't ramp you two lands like Rampant Growth-on-steroids effects (Skyshroud Claim, Three Visits), and it only fetches basics, so fetching duals is off the table. In fast, low-curve or cEDH decks, it's often too slow and card-disadvantageous compared to mana rocks. But for the average midrange green deck, it's a staple.
