Land
LegalEDHREC #195
, Pay 1 life, Sacrifice this land: Search your library for a basic land card, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle.
Why is this card good?
The premium basic-land fetch. Prismatic Vista grabs any basic regardless of color, making it the best generic fetchland for any deck running two or more colors. Unlike the dual-typed Onslaught/Zendikar fetches, it can't grab shocklands or Triomes — it only pulls basics — but that flexibility across all five colors is exactly what most decks need.
Why it's good: Beyond fixing, it thins your deck and—critically—triggers landfall, fetch-matters cards, and shuffle effects. It enables Brainstorm/sensei top decking, fuels Crucible of Worlds and Ramunap Excavator loops, and supports landfall payoffs (Lotus Cobra, Tatyova, Omnath).
Who wants it: Almost any non-mono deck. It's especially strong in decks caring about basics (Path to Exile, Field of the Dead) or fetch-count synergies (delirium, landfall, reanimating lands).
When to skip it: Mono-color decks gain almost nothing—just a tapped-equivalent shuffle and a life loss. And if your fixing relies on nonbasic duals/Triomes, a typed fetch serves you better. Otherwise, a near-auto-include.
