: Put a +1/+1 counter on Ashling. If this is the third time this ability has resolved this turn, remove all +1/+1 counters from Ashling, and it deals that much damage to each creature and each player.
Cast Ashling cheaply, then pump her up three activations per turn to detonate a board-and-player-wipe that scales over multiple turns. Between detonations you build mana, protect her with indestructibility or damage prevention, and double the burn to close games. She's a recurring sweeper-on-a-stick that doubles as a finisher in mono-red.
Repeatable board wipe AND direct player damage on a 2-mana commander
Scales infinitely with mana ramp and untap effects
Built-in burn finisher that hits all opponents at once
Cheap to recast and hard to permanently answer in mono-red
Damages and shrinks Ashling herself, so she dies to her own ability or stays small
Mono-red lacks card advantage and interaction outside burn
Detonation hurts your own board and life total if unprotected
Activations are mana-hungry; without ramp the explosions are tiny
Vulnerable to graveyard/recursion hate and instant-speed removal mid-pump
