Danitha Capashen, Paragon
The Commander
First strike, vigilance, lifelink
Aura and Equipment spells you cast cost less to cast.
Guide
Gameplan
Danitha is a mono-white Voltron commander: drop her on turn 3, then load up Auras and Equipment (which cost less) to turn her into a hard-to-block, life-gaining threat that swings for lethal commander damage. First strike, vigilance, and lifelink mean she attacks and blocks safely while padding your life total. Win by suiting her up and connecting two or three times for 21 commander damage.
Strengths
- Cost reduction makes building a Voltron threat fast and mana-efficient
- Built-in evasion-adjacent keywords (first strike + lifelink) make combat very favorable and stabilize your life
- Cheap commander that comes down early and pressures opponents immediately
- Mono-white access to premium protection and recursion for auras/equipment
Weaknesses
- Classic Voltron fragility: heavy reliance on the commander invites removal and a brutal blowout if she dies
- Aura-based builds risk card disadvantage to spot removal (two-for-ones)
- Mono-white struggles for card draw and ramp compared to other colors
- Limited reach against fliers or wide boards without specific tools
Key Cards
- Sword of Feast and Famine — Untaps your lands for a second spell and grants protection, accelerating the loadout while shielding Danitha.
- Shadowspear — Cheap equipment that grants trample and strips hexproof/indestructible from blockers, fixing Voltron's biggest combat problems.
- Sigarda's Aid — Lets you flash in equipment and aura spells at instant speed and free-attaches equipment, dodging sorcery-speed removal.
- Ancestral Mask — With a few enchantments out it gives a massive power boost for a quick one-shot kill.
- Swiftfoot Boots — Hexproof and haste protect your investment and let suited-up Danitha swing the turn she's recast.
Upgrade Path
Add protection density (Sword of Feast and Famine, Lightning Greaves, Teferi's Protection, Flawless Maneuver) so a single removal spell doesn't cost the game, and lean on cheap evasion/trample enablers like Whispersilk Cloak and Rogue's Passage. Improve card flow with Sram, Senior Edificer, Puresteel Paladin, and Welding Jar/Brass Squire-style recursion, and tighten the curve to enable two-spell turns. For higher power, prioritize equipment over fragile auras to minimize two-for-one risk and add fast mana like Sol Ring and white's stax pieces to slow combo decks.

- Equipment — The

- Lifegain — Lifelink plus white's gain payoffs can support an incidental lifegain shell.
