The Commander
When Gatta and Luzzu enters, choose target creature you control. If damage would be dealt to that creature this turn, prevent that damage and put that many +1/+1 counters on it.

Gameplan
Cast Gatta and Luzzu (often at flash speed pre-combat or in response to a swing) to turn a single creature into a damage sponge that grows permanently. Funnel combat damage, fights, and even your own pingers into that creature so it balloons with +1/+1 counters, then close with an oversized beater or wide counter synergies. The deck plays a fair white midrange/Voltron game backed by protection and anthem effects.
Strengths
- Flash lets you ambush attackers or surprise-block while your chosen creature absorbs the hit and grows
- Converts combat and burn damage into permanent stats, swinging combats heavily in your favor
- Strong synergy with white's deep pool of +1/+1 counter payoffs and protection spells
- Cheap commander that immediately impacts the board and is easy to recast
- Mono-white keeps mana consistent and enables strong tax/stax pieces
Weaknesses
- Prevention only lasts one turn and protects just one creature at a time
- Effect is wasted if the chosen creature is killed by exile, -X/-X, or sacrifice
- Mono-white struggles with raw card advantage and ramp
- Vulnerable to board wipes that erase your counter investment
- Needs combat or a damage source to actually generate value—does nothing on an empty board

Add efficient white ramp (Smothering Tithe, Land Tax) and card advantage (Skullclamp, Welcoming Vampire, Esper Sentinel) to offset mono-white's weaknesses. Lean into a combo finish like Heliod plus Walking Ballista, and add protection (Teferi's Protection, Flawless Maneuver, Heroic Intervention's white equivalents) so your counter investment survives wraths. Tighten the curve with anthem and evasion enablers so a single buffed creature reliably closes games.
