Greensleeves, Maro-Sorcerer
The Commander
Protection from planeswalkers and from Wizards
Greensleeves's power and toughness are each equal to the number of lands you control.
Landfall — Whenever a land you control enters, create a 3/3 green Badger creature token.
Guide
Gameplan
Greensleeves is a mono-green lands-matters commander that floods the board with 3/3 Badgers every time a land enters, while growing into a massive beater scaled to your land count. You ramp aggressively, play extra lands per turn, and recur lands to trigger landfall repeatedly, then close with an overwhelming token army or a buffed-up Greensleeves swing.
Strengths
- Generates a 3/3 token for every land drop, snowballing a wide board fast
- Scales naturally with ramp—Greensleeves becomes a huge threat with no extra investment
- Mono-green gives access to the best ramp and land recursion in the format
- Protection from planeswalkers and Wizards dodges a surprising amount of removal and control
Weaknesses
- Mono-green struggles with interaction, card advantage outside of creatures, and removing problem permanents
- Heavily reliant on the commander and extra-land-drop effects to function
- Vulnerable to board wipes that erase the Badger swarm
- No evasion built in—tokens can be chumped by larger or flying blockers
Key Cards
- Exploration — Doubles your land drops, turning every additional land into another Badger trigger.
- Azusa, Lost but Seeking — Two extra land drops per turn means up to three Badgers each turn plus huge ramp.
- Crucible of Worlds — Replays fetched and sacrificed lands to repeatedly trigger landfall and pump Greensleeves.
- Scapeshift — Sacrifices and replays your whole battlefield of lands for a massive burst of Badger tokens.
- Cultivate — Cheap ramp that fixes land count, growing Greensleeves and fueling future landfall.
- Craterhoof Behemoth — Turns your wide Badger army and giant Greensleeves into a lethal alpha strike.
Upgrade Path
Add more extra-land-drop enablers (Burgeoning, Oracle of Mul Daya, Wayward Swordtooth) and land recursion (Ramunap Excavator, Splendid Reclamation) to maximize landfall triggers per turn. Include doublers like Doubling Season and Parallel Lives for explosive token output, plus anthem and overrun effects (Beastmaster Ascension, Pathbreaker Ibex) to close games faster. Round out with green's best protection—Heroic Intervention and Wrap in Vigor—to shield your board from wipes.

Win Conditions
- ▸Overrun effects like Craterhoof Behemoth or Overwhelming Stampede turn the Badger swarm lethal
- ▸Swinging with a Greensleeves pumped to massive power by your land count, ideally with trample
- ▸Grinding out a board too wide for opponents to handle with repeated landfall tokens
Archetypes
- Tokens — Every land entering creates a 3/3 Badger, building a go-wide army naturally.
- Lands — Extra land drops, fetches, and land recursion all multiply landfall triggers.
- Stompy/Ramp — Ramping into Greensleeves makes it an enormous body that ends games on its own.
