Katilda, Dawnhart Martyr // Katilda's Rising Dawn
The Commander
Flying, lifelink, protection from Vampires
Katilda's power and toughness are each equal to the number of permanents you control that are Spirits and/or enchantments.
Disturb (You may cast this card from your graveyard transformed for its disturb cost.)
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature has flying, lifelink, and protection from Vampires, and it gets +X/+X, where X is the number of permanents you control that are Spirits and/or enchantments.
If Katilda's Rising Dawn would be put into a graveyard from anywhere, exile it instead.
Guide
Gameplan
Flood the board with Spirit tokens and enchantments to pump Katilda into a sizable, evasive lifelink threat, then leverage that wide board for an aggressive or token-based assault. Katilda doubles as a recurring resource: after she dies you can Disturb her into an Aura that turns any creature into a flying lifelinker, so you keep applying pressure even through removal. Turn to turn you build a permanent count that powers both halves of the card.
Strengths
- Built-in resilience: Disturb lets her come back as an Aura, and Rising Dawn exiles rather than dies, so it dodges graveyard recursion hate
- Lifelink plus flying makes her a strong attacker and stabilizer simultaneously
- Scales naturally with two of mono-white's deepest themes — Spirits and enchantments
- Protection from Vampires is narrow but free, and the evasion/lifelink package is always relevant
Weaknesses
- Mono-white means weak card draw, ramp, and interaction relative to other colors
- Power is entirely board-dependent — a wrath shrinks her to nothing and crushes your tempo
- No inherent way to grind card advantage; can run out of gas in long games
- Vanilla beatdown is easy for the table to chump or out-size at higher power levels
Key Cards
- Smothering Tithe — Premier mono-white ramp that fuels expensive enchantments and Katilda's Disturb cost.
- Cathars' Crusade — Turns every Spirit token you make into a snowballing army alongside Katilda.
- Sigil of the Empty Throne — Each enchantment you cast spits out an Angel, simultaneously boosting Katilda's stats and your board.
- Welcoming Vampire — Rare mono-white card draw triggered by your stream of small Spirit tokens.
- Spectral Procession — Three flying Spirit tokens at once is a massive bump to Katilda's power and your evasive clock.
- Enduring Renewal — Engine potential, but more practically Katilda wants cheap enchantment density to pad her counter.
Upgrade Path
Lean into permanent density: add cheap, sticky enchantments and reliable Spirit token engines so Katilda is always huge and resilient. Shore up mono-white's weaknesses with ramp (Smothering Tithe, Mana Vault-style rocks) and card advantage (Welcoming Vampire, Mentor of the Meek, Skullclamp on tokens). For higher power, add fast protection (Teferi's Protection, Heroic Intervention-equivalents like Flawless Maneuver) and an anthem-based combo finish such as Cathars' Crusade plus repeatable token generation.

Win Conditions
- ▸Beat down with a large flying, lifelinking Katilda backed by Spirit tokens
- ▸Go wide with Spirits and finish via anthems like Cathars' Crusade or a mass pump
- ▸Disturb Katilda onto an evasive creature for a Voltron commander-damage kill
- ▸Grind out the table with lifelink swings that outpace their clock
Archetypes
- Spirits Tribal — Katilda's power keys off Spirits and most Spirit token makers live in mono-white.
- Enchantress — Enchantments also count toward her size, so a heavy aura/enchantment shell pumps her while drawing cards.
- Tokens / Go-Wide Aggro — Flooding the board feeds her counter and provides a swarm to win combat or close with anthems.
- Voltron — As Rising Dawn she can turn an evasive creature into a huge protected lifelinker for commander-damage kills.
