The Commander

Flying (This creature can't be blocked except by creatures with flying or reach.)

When Momo enters, he deals 4 damage to target tapped creature an opponent controls.

Guide

Gameplan

Momo is a 3-mana mono-white flyer that pings tapped attackers/blockers for 4 on entry, so the deck wants to abuse that ETB by repeatedly blinking and recasting him while pressuring opponents in the air. You curve out with efficient white creatures and tappers, control the board with Momo's removal, and grind through flyers and value engines. Win by going wide or tall with evasive threats backed by repeatable removal.

Strengths

  • Built-in repeatable removal on a cheap, evasive body
  • Mono-white consistency and access to strong tax/stax pieces
  • Synergizes with blink and tap effects for value chains
  • Cheap commander that's easy to recast and protect

Weaknesses

  • Removal only hits TAPPED creatures, so it's conditional without enablers
  • Mono-white struggles with card draw and ramp
  • Caps at 4 damage, missing big threats
  • Vulnerable to commander-tax and removal-heavy metas

Key Cards

  • Skullclamp — Solves mono-white's card-draw problem and turns small creatures into engines.
  • Conqueror's Flail — Anthem and protection from interaction while you grind with Momo.
  • Thousand-Year Elixir — Lets you tap opponents' creatures... actually taps your own, but pairs with tappers to enable Momo's ETB.
  • Cloudshift — Cheap blink to re-trigger Momo's 4 damage at instant speed.
  • Smothering Tithe — Premier mono-white ramp and resource engine to fuel your plan.

Upgrade Path

Add blink enablers (Restoration Angel, Eldrazi Displacer, Conjurer's Closet) and tap effects (Master Decoy, Icy Manipulator) to make Momo's removal reliable and repeatable. Shore up mono-white's weaknesses with fast mana (Sol Ring, Mana Crypt) and card advantage (Mangara, the Diplomat, Esper Sentinel, Welcoming Vampire). Top-end finishers like Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite or a token overrun (Cathars' Crusade, Divine Visitation) push the ceiling higher.

Win Conditions

  • ▸Aerial beatdown with Momo and other evasive flyers
  • ▸Going wide with tokens plus anthems like Intangible Virtue
  • ▸Voltron Momo with equipment and protection
  • ▸Grinding incremental advantage until opponents run out of blockers

Archetypes

  • Blink — Repeatedly flickering Momo lets you snipe a tapped creature each turn.
  • Tokens/Go-Wide — Mono-white excels at flooding the board with evasive and anthem-supported tokens.
  • Tappers/Control — Tap-down effects turn opponents' creatures into legal targets for Momo's ping.
  • Voltron/Aggro — Momo's flying body can carry equipment and pressure life totals fast.
