Alisaie Leveilleur
The Commander
Partner with Alphinaud Leveilleur (When this creature enters, target player may put Alphinaud Leveilleur into their hand from their library, then shuffle.)
First strike
Dualcast — The second spell you cast each turn costs less to cast.
Guide
Gameplan
Alisaie is a mono-white aggressive Wizard who turns your second spell each turn into a discount engine, letting you chain cheap spells and combat tricks while she pokes in with first strike. You curve out, deploy threats, and use Dualcast to double-spell every turn for tempo, ideally pairing her with Alphinaud for a wider go-wide or value plan. Most games she's either a Voltron-adjacent beater or the enabler for a token/equipment swarm that overwhelms before opponents stabilize.
Strengths
- Free partner card advantage via fetching Alphinaud
- Dualcast cost reduction rewards low-curve, spell-dense builds
- First strike makes her a safe attacker and good equipment carrier
- Cheap 3-mana body that can be deployed and reused easily
- Mono-white gives access to strong taxes, board wipes, and protection
Weaknesses
- Mono-white struggles with raw card draw and ramp
- Dualcast only helps the second spell, so it's marginal in a slow grind
- No inherent evasion beyond first strike for a Voltron plan
- White's removal is artifact/enchantment-skewed, weak vs resolved big creatures
- Heavily reliant on having a second castable spell each turn to get value
Key Cards
- Alphinaud Leveilleur — Her partner is free to fetch on ETB and extends the deck into go-wide token value.
- Smothering Tithe — One of mono-white's best ramp engines, fueling multi-spell turns to exploit Dualcast.
- Swords to Plowshares — Premier white removal that you can sequence as your second discounted spell.
- Skullclamp — Solves white's card-draw problem, especially with a token base from Alphinaud.
- Welcoming Vampire — Repeatable card draw for an aggressive small-creature board.
- Sword of Fire and Ice — Turns her first-strike body into an evasive, card-advantage Voltron threat.
Upgrade Path
Lower your curve aggressively so Dualcast always finds a target, and add white's premium fast mana and rocks (Sol Ring, Smothering Tithe, mana rocks) to enable double-spell turns. Lean into either a token core with Skullclamp/Welcoming Vampire for card advantage or a tight Voltron package with Swords, protection like Flawless Maneuver, and evasion. Add efficient white interaction (Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile, Generous Gift) and a finisher like Craterhoof Behemoth or Cathars' Crusade to close fast before the deck runs out of gas.

Archetypes
- Tokens / Go-Wide — Alphinaud's token generation plus white anthems lets Alisaie lead a swarm.
- Voltron — First strike and a cheap recastable body make her a reliable equipment/aura carrier.
- Spellslinger (white) — Dualcast rewards casting two spells a turn, favoring a low-curve instant/sorcery shell.
