Gameplan

Cast Dakkon and turn your land count into a lethal body, then suit up and connect for commander damage. You ramp aggressively, protect Dakkon with evasion and shields, and grind toward 21 commander damage—often in just two swings once your land total is high. Esper's control tools keep the board clear while you build your mana base into a wincon.

Upgrade Path

Prioritize cheap ramp and fetchlands so Dakkon comes down big and grows fast, then add evasion (Rogue's Passage, Whispersilk Cloak) and protection (Lightning Greaves, Heroic Intervention) to make swings reliable. Lean into Esper's premium interaction—Swords to Plowshares, Cyclonic Rift, Counterspells—and a recursion shell like Crucible of Worlds with strip effects to push toward a soft-stax control plan. For the top end, extra-combat and untap effects like Aggravated Assault or Sword of Feast and Famine convert a single connect into a one-shot kill.
