Elsha, Threefold Master
The Commander
Trample
Prowess (Whenever you cast a noncreature spell, this creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn.)
Whenever Elsha deals combat damage to a player, create that many 1/1 white Monk creature tokens with prowess.
Guide
Gameplan
Suit up Elsha with prowess triggers and equipment, swing for trample damage, then flood the board with prowess Monk tokens equal to that damage. Chain cheap noncreature spells to pump Elsha big, connect once, and snowball a wide go-wide army that all swells off the same instants and sorceries. You win by overwhelming with combat or by repeatedly buffing a growing token squad.
Strengths
- Generates a self-snowballing token army that all share prowess, so one cantrip pumps your whole board
- Cheap spells double as damage pumps and card advantage, keeping pressure relentless
- Jeskai colors give premium interaction, card draw, and flexible removal
- Threefold attack creates explosive single-turn blowouts once Elsha lands one big hit
Weaknesses
- Three-mana commander that dies to spot removal and resets your engine each time
- Needs to connect in combat to extract value, so blockers and fog effects slow it
- Tokens are fragile 1/1s vulnerable to board wipes and sweepers
- Can stall without enough cheap spells to keep prowess engaged
Key Cards
- Embercleave — Cheap with prowess attacks online, granting double strike and trample for a massive token-generating swing.
- Rogue's Passage — Pushes an unblockable Elsha through to guarantee the Monk token payoff and big damage.
- Shark Typhoon — Its cycling and noncreature castings trigger prowess repeatedly while flooding extra evasive bodies.
- Mirran Spy — Untaps so you can hold up spells and keep prowess active across turns.
- Akroma's Will — A single instant grants evasion and double strike, turning Elsha's hit into an enormous token flood.
- Brash Taunter — Cheap noncreature-light value, but more importantly the deck wants combat damage doublers like it to multiply tokens.
Upgrade Path
Lean into combat damage multipliers and evasion enablers like Akroma's Will, Embercleave, and unblockable effects to maximize token output per swing. Add efficient cantrips and rituals to chain prowess triggers, plus protection like Heroic Intervention and Deflecting Swat to keep Elsha alive. Tighten the curve with cheap interaction and fast mana to deploy and connect a turn earlier.
