Nyla, Shirshu Sleuth

Gameplan

Nyla is a mono-black value engine that turns dead creatures into Clue tokens and recursion. Cast or reanimate Nyla to exile a fat creature card from your yard, banking Clues equal to its mana value, then cash those Clues for cards while the same creature returns to hand once you're out of Clues. Grind opponents out with relentless card advantage, sacrifice synergies, and big black bombs you keep replaying.

Key Cards

• Sheoldred, the Apocalypse — Punishes opponents for drawing while you safely draw off Clues, and is a great high-MV reanimation target to recur.
• Reanimate — Cheaply puts a huge creature in play and into the yard cycle to maximize Nyla's Clue output.
• Krark-Clan Ironworks — Sacrifices Clues for mana en masse, turning Nyla's tokens into explosive ramp and combo fuel.
• Sidisi, Undead Vizier — Tutors via exploit and is a prime high-MV body to exile for Clues then return repeatedly.
• Phyrexian Tower — Sacrifices creatures for mana and feeds the graveyard so Nyla always has a fat target.
• Ashnod's Altar — Converts Clues and creatures into mana, enabling explosive turns and sac-based engines.

Upgrade Path

Lean into reanimation with Animate Dead, Victimize, and Buried Alive to reliably feed Nyla huge targets, and add sac outlets like Viscera Seer plus Blood Artist effects to drain. Push the artifact angle with Krark-Clan Ironworks and Ashnod's Altar to turn Clues into combo mana, and tighten the mana base with Cabal Coffers, Nykthos, and fast rocks to power explosive turns.
