Nylea, Keen-Eyed
The Commander
Indestructible
As long as your devotion to green is less than five, Nylea isn't a creature.
Creature spells you cast cost less to cast.
: Reveal the top card of your library. If it's a creature card, put it into your hand. Otherwise, you may put it into your graveyard.
Guide
Gameplan
Nylea, Keen-Eyed turns green's flood of creatures into a relentless value engine: every creature you cast costs less, and her
ability digs for more creatures while filling the graveyard. You ramp early, deploy a wide and threatening board of stompy beaters, then grind out card advantage with her activated ability until you bury opponents in bodies. The game plan is to out-resource and out-size the table, closing with overwhelming green creatures or a single haymaker payoff.
Strengths
- Built-in card advantage that's nearly impossible to remove thanks to indestructibility and the devotion clause keeping her off the battlefield as a creature
- Cost reduction on every creature spell makes mono-green's curve obscene, enabling explosive multi-spell turns
- Excellent mana sink in the late game that converts excess mana into creatures and graveyard fuel
- Mono-green consistency: easy color requirements and access to the format's best ramp
Weaknesses
- No interaction in the command zone — mono-green struggles with counterspells, board wipes, and flyers
- Her ability only reaches the top card, so it's high-variance and stalls if you flood on noncreatures
- Vulnerable to graveyard hate and to fast combo decks that ignore the board
- Lacks an inherent win condition; you must build one into the 99
Key Cards
- Cradle of the Accursed — Not it — instead lean on lands like Nykthos to explode your mana for repeated activations.
- Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx — Converts your high green devotion into massive mana to chain creature spells and Nylea activations.
- Craterhoof Behemoth — The premier mono-green finisher that turns your wide creature board into lethal damage in one swing.
- Cavalier of Thorns — High devotion, ramp, and graveyard synergy that plays perfectly with Nylea's mill-or-draw ability.
- The Great Henge — With cheap fatties from cost reduction it costs almost nothing and snowballs cards, life, and mana.
- Greater Good — Pairs with Nylea's graveyard filling to draw huge chunks of cards off your big creatures.
Upgrade Path
Add fast mana and devotion enablers (Sol Ring, Nykthos, mana dorks like Llanowar Elves and Elvish Mystic) to power out turns, then a tight finisher package (Craterhoof Behemoth, Overwhelming Stampede, Triumph of the Hordes). Improve consistency with tutors like Green Sun's Zenith, Worldly Tutor, and Finale of Devastation, and protect your board with Heroic Intervention and Asceticism. Lean into payoffs like The Great Henge and Greater Good so Nylea's graveyard-filling becomes raw card advantage.

Win Conditions
- ▸Overrun effects like Craterhoof Behemoth or Overwhelming Stampede swinging a wide board for lethal
- ▸Casting an enormous threat (Ghalta, End-Raze Forerunners) discounted by Nylea and connecting
- ▸Generically out-grinding the table with card advantage and oversized blockers/attackers
- ▸Combo finishes such as Walking Ballista with a counter doubler or infinite mana sink
Archetypes
- Stompy / Big Mana — Cost reduction plus mono-green ramp lets you cast giant creatures ahead of curve and overwhelm the board.
- Devotion — As a God she rewards heavy green pip counts, and cards like Nykthos turn devotion into game-winning mana.
- Creature Toolbox / Value — Her repeatable dig finds the right creature each turn, supporting tutor-light grindy gameplay.
- +1/+1 Counters or Tokens — Wide green boards synergize with anthem and overrun effects to convert card advantage into damage.
