Shiko and Narset, Unified
The Commander
Flying, vigilance
Flurry — Whenever you cast your second spell each turn, copy that spell if it targets a permanent or player, and you may choose new targets for the copy. If you don't copy a spell this way, draw a card.
Guide
Gameplan
Cast cheap, high-impact spells two-at-a-time each turn to either copy the second one (doubling burn, removal, buffs, or extra-turn spells) or draw a card when it can't be copied. Build a flexible spellslinger-control shell with cost reducers and rituals so you can chain spells, then convert copied value into lethal damage or an overwhelming board.
Strengths
- Built-in card advantage every turn even when you don't have a copy target
- Doubles game-warping spells like extra turns, board wipes, and big burn for free
- Flying, vigilance, evasive body that pressures players while you hold up answers
- Jeskai gives access to the best card draw, removal, and counterspells in the format
Weaknesses
- Needs to consistently cast two spells per turn to do anything
- Color-light on ramp and recursion compared to green/black decks
- Commander itself doesn't protect the board, so it's vulnerable to wipes
- Can be slow to assemble its engine against fast combo or aggro
Key Cards
- Time Warp — Casting it as your second spell copies it for two extra turns at once.
- Expansion // Explosion — Explosion as a second spell copies for massive burn-to-the-face and card draw.
- Mizzix's Mastery — Copies an Overloaded or X-spell out of your graveyard for explosive blowouts.
- Comet, Stellar Pup — Cheap planeswalker spells and tokens help you flood the board between your two spells.
- Aetherflux Reservoir — Chaining cheap spells gains tons of life and enables a one-card kill.
- Mystic Remora — Cheap upkeep-draw engine that fuels two-spell turns early.
- Deflecting Swat — Free spell to trigger Flurry and redirect removal at instant speed.
- Jeskai Ascendancy — Untaps and pumps while looting every time you cast a spell, supercharging chains.
Upgrade Path
Add fast mana and cost reducers (Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Goblin Electromancer, Baral) so you reliably hit two spells turn after turn. Prioritize copy-worthy bombs—extra-turn spells, X-burn, and overloaded wipes—plus free spells (Fierce Guardianship, Deflecting Swat) to trigger Flurry without spending mana. Tighten with strong card selection (Brainstorm, Faithless Looting, Mystical Tutor) and a compact combo finish like Aetherflux Reservoir or an extra-turn loop.
