Sythis, Harvest's Hand
The Commander
Whenever you cast an enchantment spell, you gain 1 life and draw a card.
Guide
Gameplan
Sythis turns every enchantment you cast into a card and a life point, so you flood the board with cheap enchantments and out-resource the table. Early turns establish mana and card-draw enchantments, midgame you snowball into pillowfort and value pieces while gaining life, and you close by assembling an enchantment-based combo or an overwhelming board presence. The deck plays like a low-curve enchantress engine that rarely runs out of gas.
Strengths
- Relentless card advantage from a two-mana commander that's hard to keep down on resources
- Cheap to cast and rebuilds quickly after a board wipe via enchantment-based recursion
- Incidental lifegain buffers against aggro and burn while you set up
- Enchantment package is resilient to creature removal and supports redundant draw engines
Weaknesses
- Sythis dies to any spot removal, and the deck is much weaker without an enchantress online
- Enchantment-heavy lists are soft to Back to Nature, Bane of Progress, and mass enchantment hate
- Drawing cards doesn't win on its own—needs a closing plan or it durdles
- Vulnerable to fast combo decks since GW lacks interaction beyond a handful of pieces
Key Cards
- Enchantress's Presence — Stacks redundant draw with Sythis so each enchantment cantrips even harder.
- Argothian Enchantress — Shroud enchantress that draws on every enchantment cast and dodges removal.
- Sterling Grove — Protects your whole enchantment board from targeted removal and tutors for a key piece.
- Sigil of the Empty Throne — Converts your high enchantment count into an army of 4/4 angels as a win condition.
- Smothering Tithe — Generates explosive Treasure mana to power out your whole hand in a turn.
- Mesa Enchantress — Another redundant enchantress effect to keep cards flowing even if Sythis is removed.
Upgrade Path
Lower your curve and add free or cheap enchantments (Utopia Sprawl, Wild Growth, Sterling Grove) so each draw trigger costs almost nothing and your engine spins faster. Add protection like Heroic Intervention and Sterling Grove plus a compact win like Sigil of the Empty Throne or Approach of the Second Sun so the card advantage actually converts. Tighten the mana with Serra's Sanctum, Land Tax, and efficient ramp to enable explosive double-spell turns.

Win Conditions
- ▸Sigil of the Empty Throne or Sandwurm Convergence flooding the board with tokens
- ▸Voltron beatdown with Sythis or a creature suited up by cheap Auras
- ▸Out-valuing the table then closing with Approach of the Second Sun or Felidar Sovereign
- ▸Enchantment combo loops (e.g., Earthcraft/Squirrel Nest or Solitary Confinement lock) for inevitability
Archetypes
- Enchantress — Sythis is the premier draw engine for chaining cheap enchantments into massive card advantage.
- Stax/Pillowfort — Enchantments like Ghostly Prison and Rest in Peace let you lock the table while drawing through it.
- Voltron — Aura-based suits like Sythis equipped with All That Glitters and Ethereal Armor close fast while cantripping.
- Combo — Enchantment loops such as Enchantress + free enchantments enable card-draw and mana engines to find a kill.
