Queen Allenal of Ruadach
The Commander
Queen Allenal of Ruadach's power and toughness are each equal to the number of creatures you control.
If one or more creature tokens would be created under your control, those tokens plus a 1/1 white Soldier creature token are created instead.
Guide
Gameplan
Flood the board with creature tokens, getting a bonus 1/1 Soldier every time you make any token, then convert that wide army into damage via anthems, overrun effects, or a big swing with Queen Allenal herself (who grows with your creature count). You build a critical mass on turns 3-5 and close games by going wide and pumping.
Strengths
- Free extra Soldier on every token-making spell or ability stacks up incredibly fast
- Cheap, resilient commander whose stats scale automatically with your board
- GW has the best anthems, overrun effects, and token enablers in the format
- Wide boards play well with convoke, ramp, and counter synergies
Weaknesses
- Extremely vulnerable to board wipes given the all-in go-wide plan
- No built-in evasion or trample—gets gummed up by ground blockers
- Allenal does nothing on her own without other creatures to power her
- Lacks card advantage and interaction inherent to the colors; can run out of gas
Key Cards
- Parallel Lives — Doubles your tokens, and Allenal still adds her bonus Soldier on top of the doubling.
- Anointed Procession — Same as Parallel Lives—stacking token multipliers with Allenal's free Soldier is explosive.
- Craterhoof Behemoth — Turns your massive token board into a one-shot lethal alpha strike.
- Cathars' Crusade — Every token (including Allenal's bonus Soldiers) piles +1/+1 counters across your whole team.
- Intangible Virtue — Cheap anthem that pumps and gives vigilance to your token swarm.
- Heroic Intervention — Protects your wide board from the wraths that otherwise ruin the deck.
Upgrade Path
Add more token multipliers (Mondrak, Glory Dominus; Doubling Season) and protection (Teferi's Protection, Boros Charm) to survive wipes. Improve consistency with token generators that trigger repeatedly—Scute Swarm, Trostani Discordant, Hour of Reckoning's payoffs—and tutors like Green Sun's Zenith or Finale of Devastation to find Craterhoof. Round out with ramp (Smothering Tithe, Esper Sentinel-style staples in white) and card draw such as Beast Whisperer and Welcoming Vampire to refuel.

Win Conditions
- ▸Overrun effect (Craterhoof Behemoth, Overwhelming Stampede, End-Raze Forerunners) for a lethal alpha strike
- ▸Anthem stacking (Intangible Virtue, Cathars' Crusade, Glorious Anthem) to outsize all blockers
- ▸Commander damage from a massive Queen Allenal with trample
- ▸Token-based combos like Divine Visitation turning Soldiers into Angels
Archetypes
- Tokens — Her replacement effect adds a Soldier to every token event, snowballing the go-wide plan.
- Go-Wide Aggro — Allenal scales with creature count and pairs with anthems/overruns to swing for lethal.
- Counters/+1+1 — Endless token bodies feed Cathars' Crusade and proliferate strategies.
- Convoke/Ramp — A huge creature count powers convoke spells and creature-based ramp like Selvala.
