Emmara, Soul of the Accord
The Commander
Whenever Emmara becomes tapped, create a 1/1 white Soldier creature token with lifelink.
Guide
Gameplan
Emmara is a token engine on a 2-drop body: every time she taps, you make a 1/1 lifelinking Soldier, so the deck wants to tap her repeatedly without combat. Use convoke, tap-for-value abilities, and untap effects to spit out an army, then go wide and overrun the table with anthems and a finisher. You grind incremental value early and snowball into a lethal board.
Strengths
- Cheap, repeatable token production that's hard to fully shut off
- Lifelink soldiers stabilize you against aggro while you build a board
- Convoke and tap-outlets give pseudo-free value every turn
- GW token support is deep and budget-friendly
Weaknesses
- Relies on Emmara staying alive; she draws removal and gets tax-y after recasts
- Vulnerable to board wipes that erase the token army
- No built-in card advantage or evasion outside of token payoffs
- Slower than dedicated combo decks at cEDH tables
Key Cards
- Intangible Virtue — Anthem that buffs every Soldier token and turns the board into a real clock.
- Citanul Hierophants — Gives all your creatures convoke-like mana tapping, letting you tap Emmara repeatedly for soldiers.
- Shielded by Faith — Combos with a free untapper to make infinite lifelink tokens and gain infinite life.
- Cryptolith Rite — Turns every token into a mana source so you can tap Emmara via spells and abilities all game.
- Craterhoof Behemoth — Classic go-wide finisher that converts your soldier army into lethal damage.
- Skullclamp — Turns expendable 1/1 tokens into a relentless card-draw engine.
Upgrade Path
Add reliable tap outlets and convoke enablers (Cryptolith Rite, Citanul Hierophants, Intruder Alarm) to maximize triggers, plus protection like Heroic Intervention and Teferi's Protection to survive wipes. Tighten the combo line with Shielded by Faith and a free untapper, and upgrade ramp/finishers (Smothering Tithe, Craterhoof Behemoth) to close faster. Skullclamp and Esper Sentinel keep the cards flowing so the engine never stalls.

- Combo — Untap or vigilance-untap loops with Shielded by Faith generate infinite tokens and life.
