Éowyn, Fearless Knight
The Commander
Haste
When Éowyn enters, exile target creature an opponent controls with greater power. Legendary creatures you control gain protection from each of that creature's colors until end of turn.
Guide
Gameplan
Cast Éowyn as an aggressive, hasty beater that immediately exiles your opponent's biggest threat while granting protection to your legends. You build a wide board of Knights and legendary creatures, swing in repeatedly, and abuse blink/recur effects to repeatedly trigger her exile ability and clear blockers.
Strengths
- Built-in removal that exiles (not destroys) the largest threat on the board the moment she enters
- Haste lets her attack immediately and pressure opponents from turn four
- Protection clause lets your legendary creatures attack through or survive combat against the exiled creature's colors
- Boros gives access to efficient aggro, equipment, and strong blink/flicker support
Weaknesses
- Her exile only hits creatures with greater power, so it whiffs against small boards or token strategies
- Single-target removal does little against go-wide or noncreature-based decks
- Boros lacks card draw and ramp, leading to running out of gas in longer games
- Vulnerable to board wipes that punish the wide aggressive boards she wants to build
Key Cards
- Sun Titan — Recurs cheap legends and equipment, and pairs with blink to reset value engines.
- Brightglow Cleric — Cheap legendary fodder—any legendary synergy boosts Éowyn's protection clause and Knight tribal payoffs.
- Conjurer's Closet — Repeatedly flickers Éowyn to exile a fresh threat every turn.
- Ephemerate — Cheap blink to re-trigger her exile ability and dodge targeted removal.
- Swiftfoot Boots — Protects your commander and adds redundant haste for other beaters.
Upgrade Path
Add reliable blink engines like Conjurer's Closet, Eldrazi Displacer, and Restoration Angel to weaponize her ETB as repeatable removal. Improve card advantage with Boros staples such as Esper Sentinel, Smothering Tithe, and Land Tax to fight the color pair's card-disadvantage problem. Tighten the curve with efficient equipment and protective gear (Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots) so your commander closes games before opponents stabilize.

Win Conditions
- ▸Aggressive combat damage from a wide board of Knights and legends
- ▸Voltron Éowyn or another legend buffed with equipment swinging through protection
- ▸Repeated exile of blockers via blink to clear the path for lethal attacks
- ▸Anthem effects pushing an evasive go-wide board over the top
Archetypes
- Legends/Superfriends Aggro — Her protection clause specifically rewards filling the board with legendary creatures.
- Knights Tribal — As a Human Knight in RW she slots into aggressive Knight builds with lords and anthems.
- Blink/Flicker — Repeatedly flickering Éowyn turns her ETB into recurring removal each turn.
- Voltron — Haste plus equipment lets her become a fast, protected single-target threat.
