Spells you cast have affinity for artifacts. (They cost less to cast for each artifact you control.)
Flood the board with cheap artifacts, then use Sami's affinity to cast the rest of your hand for nearly free—dumping into big payoffs, mass card draw, or just swinging with a 4-power double striker. You win by either snowballing artifact mana into an explosive turn or beating down with an evasive commander backed by equipment and tokens.
Affinity applies to ALL spells you cast, not just artifacts—instants, sorceries, and enchantments all get cheaper
Double strike + vigilance make Sami a strong Voltron threat and a fine blocker
RW has deep artifact support: Treasures, Clues, cheap mana rocks, and equipment all fuel the discount
Can produce explosive turns chaining multiple spells once artifact count is high
Heavily reliant on having artifacts in play—board wipes and artifact destruction set you back hard
Affinity only reduces generic mana, so heavily colored spells still need colored sources
RW lacks card draw and ramp outside of artifacts, so a stalled board leaves you flooded
Six-mana commander that does little the turn it lands without a built-up board
Drains opponents for each artifact entering, converting your artifact density into a wincon.
Add fast mana and free artifacts (Mox Opal, Lotus Petal, Ornithopter, Mishra's Bauble) to spike your affinity discount earlier. Tighten the curve with efficient equipment and artifact token engines (Sai, Thopter Foundry/Sword of the Meek) so every cast snowballs, and include artifact-count payoffs like Reckless Fireweaver for a non-combat backup. Protect the board with Teferi's Protection or a quick recur engine since you fold to a single wrath.
