Vnwxt, Verbose Host
The Commander
Start your engines! (If you have no speed, it starts at 1. It increases once on each of your turns when an opponent loses life. Max speed is 4.)
You have no maximum hand size.
Max speed — If you would draw a card, draw two cards instead.
Guide
Gameplan
Vnwxt is a mono-blue draw engine: get to max speed (4) by dealing incremental damage on your turns, then every single draw becomes two cards. Build an enormous hand with no maximum hand size, leverage that card advantage into counters, card draw payoffs, and a game-ending burst. You win by out-drawing and out-resourcing the table, then deploying a wheel or a 'draw a billion cards' finisher.
Strengths
- Cheap two-mana commander that gives explosive card advantage once online
- Doubling all draws makes every cantrip, wheel, and draw spell twice as good
- No maximum hand size lets you hoard answers and resources freely
- Mono-blue gives access to the best counterspells, tutors, and card-draw payoffs
Weaknesses
- Needs to repeatedly ping opponents for life to ramp speed, which mono-blue does poorly
- Doing nothing the turn it draws cards—pure value, no immediate board impact
- Vulnerable to graveyard/hand hate and to being removed before reaching max speed
- Drawing too much can deck you out without lifegain or shuffle protection
Key Cards
- Niv-Mizzet, Parun — Each draw deals damage which both pings opponents to raise speed and chains with your doubled draws.
- The Locust God — Turns your doubled draws into a swarm of flying tokens that close games and trigger more draw loops.
- Psychosis Crawler — Each card drawn drains every opponent, advancing speed and acting as a wincon as your hand explodes.
- Laboratory Maniac — With doubling draws you can intentionally deck yourself and win on the spot via a draw-your-deck effect.
- Reliquary Tower — Redundant insurance for keeping your massive hand and a staple in any heavy-draw blue deck.
- Windfall — A wheel that refills your hand into double value, drawing twice the printed amount at max speed.
Upgrade Path
Add reliable, repeatable life-loss enablers (Niv-Mizzet, Parun; pingers; small evasive creatures) so you hit max speed quickly and stay there. Lean into draw-doublers and wheels (Teferi's Ageless Insight, Alhammarret's Archive, Windfall, Wheel of Fortune effects) plus deck-out finishers like Thassa's Oracle backed by tutors. Tighten the mana with fast rocks (Mana Crypt, Sol Ring) and protect Vnwxt with counterspells and Lightning Greaves to keep the engine running.

Archetypes
- Spellslinger Control — Mono-blue counters and card draw protect the engine while you bury opponents in resources.
- Mill/Self-Mill Combo — Doubled draws let you deck yourself rapidly to enable Laboratory Maniac or Thassa's Oracle finishes.
- Pingers Aggro-Value — Repeatable life-loss sources like Niv-Mizzet or Psychosis Crawler keep speed maxed and double as wincons.
- Wheels/Card Advantage — Every wheel and draw-doubler compounds with Vnwxt for absurd card velocity.
