Morska, Undersea Sleuth
The Commander
You have no maximum hand size.
At the beginning of your upkeep, investigate. (Create a Clue token. It's an artifact with ", Sacrifice this token: Draw a card.")
Whenever you draw your second card each turn, put two +1/+1 counters on Morska.
Guide
Gameplan
Morska turns extra card draw into both a growing threat and engine fuel: every upkeep makes a Clue, and drawing your second card each turn pumps Morska while no max hand size lets you hoard advantage. Play a draw-engine value deck that smooths into either a beatdown with a buffed, evasive Morska or grinds opponents out with overwhelming card advantage.
Strengths
- Built-in repeatable card advantage from upkeep Clues plus no maximum hand size
- Cheap (MV3) commander that snowballs into a large body via the second-draw trigger
- Bant colors give access to the best ramp, protection, and card-draw enablers
- Rewards 'draw two' staples and extra-card-draw effects that many decks already run
Weaknesses
- Morska has no evasion or protection on her own and dies to spot removal
- The +1/+1 counter clock is slow without dedicated extra-draw enablers
- Can fall into durdle/durdling without a clear closing line
- Vulnerable to graveyard/hand hate and stax that taxes card draw or sacrifice
Key Cards
- Teferi's Ageless Insight — Doubles every draw so your second-draw trigger fires constantly and Morska balloons.
- Alandra, Sky Dreamer — Doubling first-draws synergizes with extra-draw and spawns Drakes off your overdraw.
- The Reality Chip — Repeatable card advantage that reliably triggers a second draw each turn.
- Rhystic Study — Generates a stream of extra draws to fuel both the counter trigger and full hands.
- Finale of Revelation — A massive overdraw finisher that empties your library while you hold no max hand size.
- Rogue's Passage — Gives the buffed Morska guaranteed connection to push commander damage.
Upgrade Path
Add draw-doublers (Teferi's Ageless Insight, Alandra) and cheap repeatable enablers (Sylvan Library, Mystic Remora, Esper Sentinel) so your second draw fires every turn. Lean into protection (Swiftfoot Boots, Heroic Intervention, Lightning Greaves) and evasion (Rogue's Passage, Aqueous Form) to make the Voltron plan reliable, and include a hard finisher like Finale of Revelation or a Laboratory Maniac/Thassa's Oracle line for the overdraw plan.
